Bhagavad Gita Chapter 1 -Arjuna Vishada Yoga - Sloka 17 & 18

Chapter 1 - Sloka 17

Adikesava Perumal - Kuram

Kasyascha parameshvasah shikandi cha maharathah I

Drishtadyumno viratascha satyakis cha parajitah II sloka 17

काश्यश्च परमेष्वासः शिखण्डी च महारथः।

द्रिष्टद्युम्नो विरतस्च  सत्यकिसच पराजितः ।। श्लोक १७ 

And the ruler of Kasi, adept archer and Shikhandi the great chariot warrior, Drishtadyumna and Virata and Satyaki, the invincible;

Shikhandi being a eunuch was devoid of beard and moustache. Bhishma had taken a vow that he would lay down arms if he confronted a woman or eunuch. Shikhandi therefore very soon became the immediate cause of his defeat. Dhrishtadyumna means one who cannot be successfully encountered by anybody. 

 Chapter 1 - Sloka 18

Drupado Draupadeyas cha sarvasah prithvi pate I

Saubhadrascha mahabahuh shankhan dadhmuh prthak prthak II sloka 18

द्रुपदो द्रौपदेयाश्च सर्वशः पृथिवी  पते ।

सौभद्रश्च महाबाहुः शङ्खान दध्मुः प्रथक् प्रथक् ।। श्लोक १८ 

O Ruler of the Earth! Drupada and the sons of Draupadi and the mighty armed son of Subhadra, all these as well blew their several conches.

There is a purpose in Sanjaya addressing Dhritarashtra as "O Ruler of the Earth". To preserve a country ever in peace or to involve it in a ruinous warfare, is all in the hands of the ruling monarch. Now the die is cast. Events are heading to a catastrophe. "What is going to be your decision?" This seems to be the implied question.
