Bhagavad Gita Chapter 1 -Arjuna Vishada Yoga - Sloka 45 - 47

Chapter 1 - Sloka 45
Aho bata mahat papam kartum vyavasita vayam I
Yad rajya sukha lobhena hantum svajanma udhyatah II

अहो बत महत पापं कर्तुं वि अवसिताः वयं ।
यत् राज्य सुख लोभेन हन्तुं स्वजन्म उद्यताः ।।

Goaded by greed of the pleasures of a kingdom, we are, alas, bent on perpetrating the great sin of killing our kinsmen.  

Chapter 1 - Sloka 46
Yadi mam 

 apratikaram ashastram shastra panayah I


dhartarashtrah rane hanyuh tat me kshema taram bhavet II





यदि माम अप्रतिकारं अशस्त्रं शास्त्र पाणयः ।


धार्तराष्ट्राः रणे हन्युः तत् मे क्षेम तरं भवेत् ।।

Should the sons of Dhritarashtra with weapons in hand slay me, unresisting and unarmed in the battle, that would indeed be better for me  


Chapter 1 - Sloka 47
Sanjaya uvacha
Evam uktva arjunah samkhye 

ratha upastha upa avishat I


Visrijaya sasharam chapam shoka sam vighna manasah II





संजय उवाच


एवं उक्त्वा अर्जुनः संख्ये रथ उपस्थ उप अविशत् ।


विस्रज्य सशरं चापं शोक सम विघ्न मानसः ।।







Sanjaya Said


So saying, overwhelmed with sorrow in the battlefield, Arjuna sat on the seat of chariot, abandoning his bow and arrows.

Iti srimad bhagavadgitasu  upanishadsu brahmavidyayam yogasashtre srikrishna arjuna samvade arjuna vishada yoga nama prathamodhyayah II

इति श्रीमद  भगवद्गीतासु उपनिशदसु योगशास्त्रे श्रीकृष्ण अर्जुन संवादे अर्जुन निषाद योग नाम प्रथमोध्यायः ।

In the Upanishads of the Bahagavad Gita, the knowledge of the Brahman, the Supreme, the science of Yoga and the dialogue between Srikrishna and Arjuna, this is the first discourse designated as the DESPONDENCY OF ARJUNA
