Annat bhavanti bhutani parjanyat anna sambhavah I
Yagyat bhavati parjanyah yagyah karma samudbhavah II sloka 14
Yagyat bhavati parjanyah yagyah karma samudbhavah II sloka 14
अन्नात भवन्ति भूतानि पर्जन्यत अन्न संभवः .
यज्ञात भवति पर्जन्यः यज्ञः कर्म समुद्भवः .. श्लोक १४
From food arise all beings (ie., their bodies); from rain food is produced; from sacrifice comes rain; and sacrifice springs from activity.
From food arise all beings; from rain food is produced. These 2 facts are matters of common experience. 'from sacrifice comes rain' this is known from scriptures such as "the Oblations offered in the fire to reach the sun, and from the sun comes rain" (Manu 6.76), and sacrifice is born out of activities in the form of collecting materials, etc., by the agent. And activity arises from Brahman, the body born of Prakriti
