Ramanuja's Gita Bhashyam - Chapter 2 - sloka 37

Swerve not from your Duty - 31-37
1 Gita Sloka every day - Chapter 2 - Samkhya Yoga - Sloka 37

Hatah va Prapsyasi svargam jitva va bhokshyase mahim I
Tasmat udatisht kaunteya yuddhaya kruta nih chyah II sloka 37
हतः वा प्राप्स्यसि स्वर्गं जित्वा वा भोक्ष्यसे महीं ।
तस्मात उदतिष्टेय कौन्तेय कृत निः चयः ।। श्लोक ३७ 
If slain you shall win heaven; or if victorious you shall enjoy the earth. Therefore arise O Arjuna, resolved to fight.

If you are slain in a righteous war by enemies, you shall thereby attain supreme bliss. Or slaying the enemies, you shall enjoy this kingdom without obstacles. As the duty called war, when done without attachment to the fruits, becomes the means for winning supreme bliss. Therefore, arise, assured that engagement in war (here the duty) is the means for attaining release, which is known as man's supreme goal. This alone is suitable for you,O son of Kunti. This is the purport
