Swerve not from your Duty - 31-37
1 Gita Sloka every day - Chapter 2 - Samkhya Yoga - Sloka 31
Svadharmam apicha avekshya na vikampitum arhasi I
Dharmyat hi yuddhat shreyah anyat kshatriyasya na vidyate II sloka 31
स्वधर्मं अपिच अवेक्ष्य न विकंपितुं अर्हसि।
धर्मयात हि युद्धात श्रेयः अनयत् क्षत्रियस्य न विद्यते ।।श्लोक ३१

Again Looking at your duty as well, you should not waver; for, there is nothing more welcome to a kshatriya than a righteous war.

kshatriya  holds righteousness superior to mere living. By waging the war of the kind that has come about, righteousness is upheld, but by beating a retreat from it, unrighteousness is allowed to thrive. He is no kshatriya who suffers unrighteousness to prosper. And the man who takes to evil ways in preference to the good, estranges himself from sreyas; he falls further. Holding on to one's svadharma is a sure means for gaining of sreyas. One's svadharma is that duty which is best suited to one's attainment and temperament. How shall man avail himself of the tide of fortune that sets in but rarely? The reply ensues...
