All the Upanishads are the cows, the milker is Krishna, the cowherd boy,
Partha is the calf, men of purified intellect are the drinkers, the milk is the supreme nectar of the Gita
Introduction to the Gita
There is a tenor to all great scriptures of the world. They all proclaim the sublime relationship between God and man. The Bhagavad Gita is one such. It contains 18 chapters conventionally called the trisatakam - the 3 sixes.
The first 6 chapters elucidate the Jivataman or the individual soul with all its potentialities and possibilities. The seeming limitations of the soul and how they could be overcome are clearly defined here..
Chapters 7 to 12 deal with the Ultimate Reality or God, viewed through different levels of intuition using the senses and intellect. Whether it is the Self that is iammanent in nature, that which transcends nature or that which is Absolute, they are all the same Cosmic Reality
Chapters 13 to 18 explain the inviolbale relationship between the two.
