तद्वत् कामः यं प्रविशन्ति सर्वे स शान्तिं आप्नोति न कामकामी ।। श्लोक ७०

He into whom all desires enter as the waters enter the full and undisturbed sea, attains peace and not he who longs after objects of desire.
The river waters enter into the sea which is full by itself and thus is the same ie unchanging in shape. The sea exhibits no special increase or decrease, whether the waters of rivers enter it or not.

Even so do all the objects of desire, ie., objects of sense perception like sound etc. As they enter a self-controlled person ie., they produce only sensorial impressions but no reactions from him. Such a person will attain peace. A person who is contented because he has the vision of the self, alone attains peace. He feels no disturbance when objects of sense like sound, etc., come within the ken of senses or when they do not. This is not the case with one who runs after desires. Whoever is agitated by sound and other objects, never attains peace.
