1 Gita Sloka  Every Day - Chapter 15 - Purushottama Yoga - Sloka 12

Yat aditya gatam tejah jagat bhasayate akhilam I
Yat chandramasi  yat cha agnau tat tejah viddhi mamakam II sloka 12
यत् आदित्य गतं तेजः जगत् भासयते अखिलम् I
यत् चन्द्रमसि यत् च अग्नौ तत् तेजः विद्धि मा मकम् II 1श्लोक 12

The  light which residing in the sun illumies the whole world, that which is in the moon and in the fire - Know that light to be Mine.

The existence of a thing can be seen with the existence of light. The light known to us comes from the sun, moon and fire.  The brilliance of the sun and other luminaries which illumines the whole universe - that brilliance belongs to Me. Know that this capacity of illumining is granted to them by Me who has been worshipped severally by them.

Sri Krishna states in the next sloka that the power of the earth to support all those that reside on it belongs to him alone.
