Transform karma into karma yoga - 38-41
1 Gita Sloka every day - Chapter 2 - Samkhya Yoga - Sloka 40
Neha Abhikramanashah asti pratyavayah na vidyate I
Svalpam apiasya dharmasya trayate mahatah bhayat II sloka 40
नेह अभिक्रमनशः अस्ति प्रत्यवायः न विध्यते ।
स्वल्पं अपिअस्य धर्मस्य त्रायते महतः भयात ।। श्लोक ४०
In this there is no loss of attempt nor any adverse effect. The practise of even a little of dharma protects one from great fear.
Does not the yoga that is not carried on to its conclusion prove itself a sheer waste? This sloka answers this question:
If the construction of a house is not completed by roofing it, all that is so far done goes to waste. If the raising of a crop is not seen through to harvesting it, the endeavours made so far become fruitless. But the partial practise of yoga doesnot suffer from any disadvantages of these kinds.Even a fragmentary application of it has its corresponding benefit just as a day's food has its own nourishment. If a wrong decision medicine is administered to a patient, instead of its healing the disease , may lead to the death of the person. The practise of yoga is not fraught with any danger of this kind. Any little practise of it, gives to that extent a glimpse into the nature of Atman. The fear of death is the greatest of all. As Atman is being understood this fear ceases.
