1 Gita Sloka every day - Chapter 2 - Samkhya Yoga - Sloka 17

Avinashi tu tat viddhi yena sarvam idam tatam I
Vinasham avyaysya sya na kah chit kartum arhati II
अविनाशी तु तत् विद्धि येन सर्वं इदं ततं ।
विनाशं अव्ययस्य स्य न कः चित कर्तुं अर्हति ।।

Know that to be verily indestructible by which all this is pervaded. None can effect the destruction of the Immutable.

Space is all pervasive and infinite. Clouds appear all of a sudden in it. but their presence does not cause division in space. It is possible for clouds to change in magnitude.
But Akasa or space remains ever itself. Akin to Akasa, Awareness is the substratum of the manifested universe, which appears and disappears. No addition or subtraction can be effected in Awareness. It is the eternal Witness.

While instructing the disciples the Guru first pointed out 2 fingers indicating thereby that there are in the relative existence 2 realities - Brahman & Maya. Then he folded in one finger to suggest that the Brahman is ever constant while Maya appears and disappears
Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa

This phenomenal is explained further in the next sloka
